Darlene Valdez-Olguin, LMFT, Ph.D. is a Licensed Marriage, Family Therapist with a Ph.D. in Psychology. She has training and experience in treating patients with psychiatric disorders, specializing in grief counseling, eating disorders, mood disorders and Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias. Her therapeutic approaches focus on Cognitive-Behavioral and Humanistic therapies.

 

Dr. Valdez-Olguin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University Long Beach, a Master of Arts degree with honors in Psychology from the School of Professional Studies at Pepperdine University followed by a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Psychology from the School of Human Behavior at United States International University, San Diego.

 

Dr. Valdez-Olguin has twenty years of clinical experience in private practice. She has conducted research in the areas of Eating Disorders and Socially Desirable Personality traits. She welcomes clients with warmth, understanding and sensitivity. Born and raised in Los Angeles County, she is an advocate for animal rights and an advocate with the Alzheimer’s Impact Movement helping to advance policy changes to improve the lives of people affected by Alzheimer’s Diseases and other dementias.

 

In her free time, she enjoys playing the piano and gardening.
